This week I received the sad news that one of our dearest friends in children’s ministry unexpectedly went to be with Jesus on November 24th. Michael Mwanikha was an incredible young minister in Kenya whom I had the privilege of visiting in 2006 in Kimilili, Kenya. At the time, he had a burning vision to tell children about Jesus but was not understood by any pastors there. Through the years God has used Mike’s determination and faithfulness to develop amazing and effective children’s ministry that has changed the lives of thousands of young people across Kenya and even into Uganda and Tanzania! Mike leaves behind his wife, Irene, and 4 precious children. Truly some light has gone out of the world at Mike’s passing and he will be greatly missed – but we know he is praising God and rejoicing with Jesus now and forever! We love and miss you Mike, and keep Irene and the kids in our prayers.
