When visiting a "Third-world" country, there is so much poverty and desperate need that many Westerners are moved to want to help - but sometimes in ways that may not be so wise, as they tend to create a dependency on the West rather than on God. What WESTERNERS see as a need may not in fact be so important to an African or Indian living in a rural community. Also, in that culture other factors involved may affect the way that need should be met. For example, in some places packages cannot be received until a customs tax has been paid by the recipient - and it may be impossible for a local person to come up with the money needed! That is why we believe that it is important to let a close relationship with local believers there develop over time so we can let the LORD direct the ministry there and show us the BEST ways to help. We have learned much over the past years and so here are some simple ways that YOU can become involved right now:

Kids love stickers!Kids love stickers!Bring a smile to a child's face!
Our overseas ministry partners in Africa minister to literally THOUSANDS of children every week, most of whom do not own a single toy and live in abject poverty - whether they live in a poor tribal village or in an overcrowded city slum. Even a small, simple gift such as a balloon, pencil or even a small sticker will bring a smile to their faces! If you would like to help by sending small items such as these directly to our partners to be handed out, contact us. For a lonely or sad child to receive such a gift and be told that people on the other side of the world really CARE, is a wonderful way to share Jesus' love!

Teachers and children with Promise Books in TogoTeachers and children with Promise Books in TogoSponser bible booklets!
Our overseas ministry partners have translated many of our materials, including the little Promise Book, into their local languages. Since printing copies of them locally there is much less expensive than doing so here and then mailing them, even just $25 will enable several hundred to be printed and distributed to children and adults alike who do not have a bible or access to any Christian books. We believe that as people begin to read and be encouraged by God's Word it will begin to change their lives, no matter where they live! Contact us if you'd like to sponsor printing some.

Support the Joseph Project orphans!Enjoying Christmas gifts and food at the JP orphanageEnjoying Christmas gifts and food at the JP orphanage
We are pioneering the Joseph Project in rural Togo to help with the huge problem of orphans there. Land was donated by the village chief for an orphanage compound, and another plot for growing crops to help feed them. The project is in its sixth year of successful maize harvests which have actually benefited both the orphans and some villagers who were affected by disastrous flooding. However since construction of the compound was only completed in July 2012, when the orphanage opened with 20 local children, help will still be needed until the project can be fully operational with a kitchen garden, small animals and annual corn crop to provide the food. Just $30 per month will provide three good meals per day for each orphan. A one time gift of $35 will enable a child to attend school. Contact us if you'd like to help!

Mike and twins in his home officeMike and twins in his home officeNative ministry support
Our main overseas ministry partners do not receive regular financial support from any other ministries outside their country, and only VERY rarely receive offerings locally. We try to send some funds each month for their ministry and personal needs (such as to help with house rent or traveling expenses) but they all basically depend on the Lord to meet their needs. When special needs arise we share them through our newsletters for prayer and occasionally can send extra funds, but sadly often ministry opportunities are lost, sickness has to be endured, and basic necessities done without. If you would like to help by giving a donation to help support these native ministers in their work, please contact us!
All funds sent to IMOF Inc and designated specifically for our overseas ministry partners will be used 100% for that purpose. IMOF Inc is a 501(C)(3) non-profit ministry and gives letters detailing donations for tax-deduction purposes.

2 Corinthians 8 is one of our favorite passages that encourages us all to give. Verse 12 says "For if the willingness to give is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have." Even though we may have little and be struggling ourselves in hard times, if we truly WANT to help, the Lord will show us SOMETHING we can do! Maybe you can think of some other way you could help - we'd love to hear from you! Just e-mail us send e-mail
