IMOF - For those who have the world on their heart
About us
International Missionary Outreach Fellowship was established in 1991 by Gerald and Shirley Davis in rural East Texas. The original vision and mission statement have never changed, although through the years the Lord has developed and increased these considerably taking the ministry into areas we never would have dreamed possible!
Many years spent in children’s ministry, 6 years as full time missionaries in Mexico, and the past 12 years or more working closely with native church leaders in Latin America, India and Africa, have given us in-depth understanding of cross-cultural ministry. One of the most important things we’ve learned is to maintain a good sense of humor – as you’ll see from reading some of the stories of our experiences. We’ve also written some helpful thoughts on cross-cultural ministry, and would like to share some of the spirit-given visions that have led us through the years.
We have also seen the need to develop simple but effective resources for sharing the Gospel and helping believers of all ages grow in their knowledge and commitment to God – especially in areas where Christian resources and literature are hard to access. In addition to having our teaching resources published and printed in past years, we now have them available for free download. We also write a monthly children’s article for the Christian Magazine Noothana Horeb in Eluru, A.P., India.
On a more personal note, Shirley has written a little book entitled “Seasonal Stories from the Family Farm” with short, humorous stories that illustrate why we have learned to trust the Lord so much on a daily basis. Each chapter is simply written and has a kind of “moral” or simple spiritual teaching point at the end. I hope that by making it available here, Seasonal Stories from the Family Farm will also encourage and inspire faith in others as well as bring a few smiles.
In 2018 Gerald and Shirley decided to move to Maryland to help family, and although the ministry has once again changed, they continue to shine and share the light of Jesus with all ages, including through the website.
